Rawhide chews are made from dried animal skins, typically from the leather industry’s leftover scraps.

The majority of rawhide chews are sourced from outside of the United States, and toxic chemicals are frequently used in the manufacturing process.

There are plenty of healthier options out there, and we’ve compiled a short list of alternatives!

Carrots are nutrient-rich and contain antioxidants and vitamins, like beta-carotene and Vitamin A. They are also low in calories, making them a great option for overweight dogs.
